This research aims to determine the success of crossing two traits of Djitu hybrid chili plants with local green chili cultivars from Batu Bara. This research was carried out at Rumah Kassa, Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra from August to December 2023 using the hand pollination crossing method with a combination of crossing the Djitu hybrid and the Green cultivar from Batu Bara. The results showed that the percentage of crosses obtained was 7.14%. Observations of pollen viability from male parents were found to be 20%. Factors that influence the low percentage of crossbreeding are other than pollen viability, the skills of the breeder and also the environment are the main factors for low crossbreeding.en_US
