Perancangan Perpustakaan Umum Kota Gunungsitoli dengan Pendekatan Arsitektur Neo Vernakular

Abstract

The public library is a place that is in charge of and responsible for providing complete information and providing fast services according to information needs so that when accessed, users can be satisfied in finding information. Not only that, this public library is also the forefront in educating the nation's life and also plays a role in fostering interest in reading in the Indonesian people. One of them is Nias where Nias is an archipelago located in Sumatra which consists of 4 districts. In Nias, of course, GunungSitoli is not sufficient for a public library which is of course used to increase interest in reading in Nias. The Nias Public Library aims of course to increase the reading interest of the Nias people both old, young and children, and also to become an information center where people can access new information. Not only helping in the development of information and interest in reading but also being able to present the culture in Nias and introduce the culture in Nias. The Neo-Vernacular theme will be applied to this design, where the local wisdom approach in Nias is reflected in the public library. It is hoped that the existence of this public library can help the local community in adding insight and can also introduce local culture to newcomers.
