Analisis Kondisi Harga Saham Sebelum dan Sesudah Right Issue pada Perusahaan Perbankan yang Terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia Periode 2021- 2023

Abstract

Right issue is one of the corporate actions which can influence the number and the price of stocks in the market; it also contains important information for shareholders in getting profit in the future. The content of information in the right issue becomes important because it can make market react against that information. Right issue is issuing new stocks which are given to the old shareholders in which each of them is given an option to buy a number of new stocks form the corporation with price and time which have been determined. The objective of the research was to find out the stock price in the pre-and post right issue. The research was conducted in banking companies listed in BEI (Indonesia Stock Exchange) in the period 2021-2023, and 25 of them were used as the samples, taken by using purposive sampling technique, according to the determined criteria. The testing of the information content such as the announcement of right issue was done by using event study method. Secondary data were obtained from Yahoo Finance in the period of 2021-2023 and the stock price was obtained from the Indonesia Stock Exchange website. The gathered data were analyzed by Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with the Eviews 12 software program. The result of the research, using Wilcoxon Signed Rank Tes, showed that the significance value was 0.2627; 0.3488 ; 0.1924 ; 0.1549 ; 0.0932 so that it could be concluded that there was significant difference in stock price between the pre-and post rights issue.
