Efektivitas Bentuk dan Warna Perangkap terhadap Lalat Buah (Bactrocera spp.) pada Tanaman Jambu Biji (Psidium guajava L.)
Effectiveness of Trap Shapes and Colors Against Fruit Flies (Bactrocera spp.) on Guava Plants (Psidium guajava L.)
Abstract
Fruit flies (Bactrocera spp.) are one of the main pests of guava so their presence needs to be controlled because they cause production to decrease by up to 50%. Pest control efforts can be carried out by using color and shape traps that attract fruit flies. This research aims: To determine the effectiveness of the interaction of different shapes and colors of traps against Fruit Flies (Bactrocera spp.) on Guava plants (Psidium guajava L.). This research was carried out in Sei Mencirim Village, Hamlet V, Sunggal District, Deli Serdang Regency from January - March 2023. This research used a randomized block design method with 2 factors and 3 replications, the first factor was the shape of the trap with 4 levels, namely the shape of a ball, tube, cube and rectangle and the second factor is the color of the trap with 2 levels, namely yellow and green. The results showed that the number of fruit fly imago trapped was highest to lowest in the yellow ball, yellow tube, green ball, green tube, yellow block, green block, yellow rectangle and green rectangle treatments. Types of fruit flies caught during 5 captures Four species of fruit flies were obtained, namely B. carambolae, B. dorsalis, B. papaya and B. umbrosa. The type of fruit fly that is most often trapped is the B. carambolae species. There is an interaction between the types of trap shape and trap color in trapping fruit flies and the highest interaction is the yellow ball trap.
