dc.description.abstract | Land cover is one of the things that is very important for people's lives. Land cover changes are one of the main concerns in environmental monitoring. Changes that occur in land cover are mostly caused by land clearing by humans. This research was conducted to analyze land cover types in Panai Hilir District, Labuhanbatu Regency and analyze land cover changes that occurred in 1993, 2003, 2013 and 2023 in Panai Hilir District, Labuhanbatu Regency, North Sumatra Province. This research aims to analyze land cover types and analyze land cover changes in Panai Hilir District, Labuhanbatu Regency, North Sumatra Province using Landsat 5 and 8 images in 1993, 2003, 2013 and 2023. This research uses a purposive sampling method, namely by taking coordinate points with some criteria. The accuracy test used is the kappa accuracy test. The types of land cover found in Panai Hilir District are open land, dry land forest, bushes, oil palm plantations, mangroves, beaches, water bodies and built-up land. Where land cover changes were carried out with a kappa accuracy test with a value of 90.12%. The accuracy value states that the level of accuracy that exists in that area with the data taken is declared accurate. The results of image analysis that occurred from 1993 to 2023 saw changes in land cover, namely the largest land cover was bushes amounting to 5263.43 ha and the smallest area was built up land amounting to 12,716 ha. From the results obtained, the land cover that has the largest area is bushes. | en_US |
