    Abstract
Bamboo belongs to the Poaceae family, characterized by its segmented stem. Different species of bamboo exhibit distinct characteristics, leading to varied optimal uses for each species. The aim of this research is to identify bamboo plant species in Orangutan Haven (OUH) and analyze the potential uses of these bamboo species, while also mapping the distribution patterns of bamboo in OUH. The study conducted 103 sample plots using purposive sampling with a sampling intensity of 9%. The results revealed 14 bamboo species from 5 genera, including Dendrocalamus asper, Gigantochloa pruriens, Thyrsostachys siamensis, Bambusa vulgaris, Bambussa sp., Schizostachyum brachycladum, Bambusa multiplex, Equisetum hyemale, Gigantochloa atter, Gigantochloa atroviolaceae, Bambusa ventricose, Bambusa maculate, Bambusa blumeana, and Schizostachyum zollingeri. The highest Importance Value Index (INP) was obtained from Siam bamboo at 32.42%, followed by Belangke bamboo at 32.02%, Oil bamboo at 20.29%, and Betung bamboo at 19.34%. The low Importance Value Index group includes Bottle bamboo and Perling bamboo, each at 2.71%. Meanwhile, the Importance Value Index (IVI) for Betung bamboo, both as poles and dominant tree species, was 125.43%, followed by Belangke bamboo at 79.09%, and the lowest value was for Kapur bamboo at 7.26%
