Abstract

The role of an employee at the Kantor Wilayah Direktorat Jenderal Bea dan Cukai Sumatera Utara includes having the ability to effectively utilize information technology in their daily computer usage. The utilization of technology is related to the behaviors and attitudes of individuals in using technology to accomplish their tasks. The implementation of Information Technology at the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of North Sumatra can be employed to enhance efficiency and the quality of services in customs inspection operations and management. This also supports the government's efforts to create a more transparent and efficient business environment for entrepreneurs in the region. With the use of advanced computerized systems, the necessary documents for export, import, and other customs-related matters can be submitted and processed electronically. This reduces the risk of human errors in document management. The research findings indicate that the implementation of Information Technology at the Kantor Wilayah Direktorat Jenderal Bea dan Cukai Sumatera Utara has significantly improved the efficiency in carrying out employee tasks and functions. It allows for faster and more accurate processing of documents and data and facilitates transparent services for the public and business community by providing easier access to customs and excise-related information.
