Substitusi Nitrogen dari Urea dengan Nitrogen dari Kompos Limbah Jagung pada Dua Varietas Jagung Manis
Nitrogen Substitution from Urea with Nitrogen from Corn Waste Compost on Two Sweet Corn Varieties
Abstract
This research was conducted in Lumban Toruan Village, Lae Parira
Subdistrict, Dairi Regency, North Sumatera Province at an altitude of about 625
meters above sea level starting from June 2023 to November 2023. This study
used a Factorial Randomized Group Design with Two Treatment Factors, namely
the dose of urea fertilizer with corn waste compost: 0.4 tons/ha urea, 0.3 tons/ha
urea with 1.53 tons/ha corn waste compost, 0.2 tons/ha urea with 3.07 tons/ha
corn waste compost, 0.1 tons/ha urea with 4.60 tons/ha corn waste compost and
6.14 tons/ha corn waste compost. The second factor is variety which consists of
Bonanza F1 and Talenta varieties. The substitution of nitrogen from urea with
nitrogen from corn waste compost significantly affected the number of cobs per
plot, cob length, cob diameter, cob weight, and cob weight per plot. The treatment
of nitrogen substitution from urea with nitrogen from corn waste compost at a
dose of 50% Urea (0.2 tons/ha) and 50% Corn Waste Compost (3.07 tons/ha)
produced the highest plant growth and production compared to other doses.
Variety had no significant effect on all parameters. The interaction between
nitrogen substitution from urea with nitrogen from corn waste compost and
varieties had a significant effect on leaf
