    Abstract
Indonesia3Background : The prevalence of high miopia continues to increase, especially in East Asia and the western Pacific region. Pathological changes in high miopia can affect the macula and the retinal nerve fiber layer which can threaten vision. Objective : To find out the relationship between the thickness of the nerve fiber layer and the macula on the visual field in high miopia patients. Method: This research is a type of observational analytical research with a cross sectional design. Refraction, RNFL thickness and macular thickness were examined using SD-OCT and 30-2 SITA perimetry. The statistical analysis used was the Spearman correlation test. Results : Results: A total of 25 people with high miopia were included in this study with an average age of 27.64, an average visual acuity of -6.97 D, and an average RNFL thickness of 107.5 (6.61) μm. High miopia sufferers had the most visual field defects, superior defects, 8(16%). There was a significant relationship between the inferior RNFL and the visual field of high miopia patients (p = 0.005), and the superior RNFL and the visual field of high miopia patients (p = 0.009). There was a significant relationship between the superior parafovea macula and the visual field of high miopia patients (p = 0.013) and the temporal parafovea macula and the visual field of high miopia patients (p = 0.022). Conclusion: There is a relationship between the inferior RNFL and the visual field of high miopia patients, the superior RNFL with the visual field of high miopia patients, the superior parafoveal macula with the visual field of high miopia patients and the temporal parafoveal macula with the visual field of high miopia patients.
