    Abstract
This research is to find and describe the social reality of women casual laborers in Sumber Mukti Village, Kuta Baharu Sub-District, Aceh Singkil District. This research uses a Qualitative Approach with Descriptive Method. In collecting informants, this research uses purposive sampling with the main informant, namely women casual daily laborers, and additional informants of company employees and the local community. Data collection techniques in this research are observation, in-depth interviews and literacy studies. The results of this study explain that casual daily labor is a side job done by women in the village, this can be caused by several factors. The way women interpret their work also varies depending on the circumstances and conditions that exist, such as as a form of free time filler and the economic situation of the family that has not been fulfilled. The involvement of women in the public sphere can have both positive and negative impacts, positively most of the women who work can help meet the needs of their households. This research uses Peter Berger's reality construction theory which explains the matter of reality and knowledge. Subjectively, women who work as casual daily laborers are seen as an effort to fulfill family welfare and there are strong environmental factors, while from the objective side, women who work are seen as a form of independence and a form of leisure time filler because in objective reality women are seen as objects and are more concerned with the opinions of others. Working is one form of independence for a woman, especially for those who have become housewives, but it can be proven that the income they generate can help the welfare of the family.
