Pengaruh Kompos Baglog Terhadap Sifat Kimia Tanah dan Pertumbuhan Tanaman Jagung (Zea mays L.) pada Tanah Entisol
Effect of Baglog Compost on Soil Chemical Properties and Growth of Corn (Zea mays L.) in Entisol Soil
Abstract
This research aims to determine the effect of baglog compost dosage on improving the chemical properties and growth of corn plants in Entisol soil. This research was carried out in the greenhouse, Chemistry Laboratory, and Research and Technology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra from May until November 2023. This research used a Randomized Group Design (RGD) with non factorial and 4 replications. Treatment factors are : (P0) control without baglog compost, (P1) 10 tons/ha baglog compost, (P2) 20 tons/ha baglog compost, (P3) 30 tons/ha baglog compost. The data obtained were subjected to analysis of variance and then tested further with the Duncan multiple range test (DMRT) at the 5% level as well as response curve and regression tests. The results showed that the application of baglog compos increased soil pH quadratically and C-Organic linearly in Entisol soil, but had no significant effect on increasing total N in Entisol soil after 2 weeks of incubation. Providing baglog compost linearly increased pH and C-Organic in Entisol soil, but had no significant effect on the CEC of Entisol soil after harvest (8 weeks). Providing 10,20,30 tonnes/ha of baglog compost had a siginificant effect on increasing root dry weight and leaf N content.
