Ninety five percent (95%) of garlic needs in Indonesia are imported from other countries, especially from China. This is due to decreased interest from farmers who are unable to compete with imported garlic which has larger bulbs. This problem can be overcome through the use of oryzalin. The aim of this research was to identify the growth and characteristics of stomata in second generation garlic plants (M₁V₂) at several concentrations and lengths of oryzalin soaking. The research was carried out in Sempajaya Village, Karo Regency from August to October 2023, using a non-factorial randomized block design (RAK) with 30 M₁V₁ genotypes and one control plant. The parameters observed were plant length, number of leaves, number of stomata and greenness of the leaves. The results showed that in the M₁V₂ generation, plant length, number of leaves, number of stomata and greenness of garlic plant leaves varied. MAD 18 genotype was longer, MAD 4 had more leaves, MAD 24 had more stomata, MAD 19 had longer stomata, and MAD 20 had wider stomata, compared to control plants.
