Pengaruh Dosis Sub-Lethal Paraquat Terhadap Pertumbuhan Dan Produksi Biji Lulangan (Eleusine Indica (L.) Gaertn)
Effect of Sub-lethal Doses of Paraquat on Growth and Seed Production of Lulangan (Eleusine indica (L.) Gaertn)
Abstract
Eleusine indica is a weed that can be found in almost all crops cultivation areas. Paraquat herbicide is one of the commonly used herbicides to control weedsfor many years. Proper weed control is needed in order to reduce weed populations. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of sub-lethal dose paraquat application on the growth and seed production of Eleusine indica (L.) Gaertn. This study used Factorial Randomized Complete Blok Design (RCBD) consisting of 4 replicates and 2 treatment factors. The first factor is growth phase: E. indica 2-4 leaves, 6-8 leaves, and flowering. The second factor is the sub-lethal dose of paraquat: 0 (control); 6,2 ; 12,25 ; 25 ; 50 g a.i/ha. The results showed that the growth phase had no significant effect on the number of surviving replicates, number of tillers, number of panicles, number of seeds and dry weight and germination percentage. Sub-lethal dose of paraquat had a significant effect on the number of tillers between the dose of 12,50 g a.i/ha (2,75) and the dose of 6,25 g a.i/ha (1,86). Also significantly different effect on germination percentage between the dose of 6,25 g a.i/ha (0.75%) with control (4.16%).
