    Abstract
This research aims to determine the effect of the heavy metal Cr in the soil and the provision of ameliorant on total Cr soil, Cr uptake and land kale (Ipomoea reptans Poir.) production. This research was conducted on the grounds of the Kassa House, Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra. Soil and plant analysis was carried out at the Research and Technology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra and at the PT Laboratory. Socfin Indonesia, North Sumatra. This research was conducted from June 2023 to November 2023. This research design used a Factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK) Consisting of 2 Factors, namely administration of the Heavy Metal Cr6+ (C) consisting of C0 = 0 ppm (control); C1 = 15 ppm Cr6+ (equivalent to 212 mg/5 kg soil); C2 = 30 ppm Cr6+ (equivalent to 424 mg/5 kg soil); C3 = 45 ppm Cr6+ (equivalent to 636 mg/5 kg soil) and the Ameliorant factor (A) consists of AKA = 1% Chicken Manure Ameliorant from 5 kg soil (equivalent to 50 g/polybag); AAS = Ameliorant Charcoal Husk 1% from 5 kg of soil (equivalent to 50 g/polybag); AZ = Ameliorant Zeolite 1% from 5 kg of soil (equivalent to 50 g/polybag); AD = Dolomite Ameliorant 1% from 5 kg of soil (equivalent to 50 g/polybag) Each treatment was repeated 2 times. The parameters observed included soil parameters (pH, C-Organic, total Cr soil) and plant parameters (wet weight and dry weight). The results showed that the application of the heavy metal Cr and ameliorant materials had a significant effect on total soil Cr and Cr uptake in plants, but had no significant effect on pH, C-Organic, wet weight and dry weight of plants. The treatment of giving 0 ppm Cr and giving 1% zeolite ameliorant material from 5 kg of soil (equivalent to 50 g/polybag) showed the best results in reducing total soil Cr and Cr uptake in plants.
