dc.description.abstract | Palas payung palm (Licuala grandis (T.Moore) H.Wedl.) is a plant of the
palm family (Arecaceae) that has long been used by the community to treat diarrhea,
worms, boils, and as a natural dye. Isolation and identification of flavonoid
compound from the palas payung palm seeds (Licuala grandis (T.Moore) H.Wedl.)
had been carried out through the maceration extraction stage with methanol solvent.
The methanol extract was concentrated then extracted with ethyl acetate and
evaporated. The concentrated extract of ethyl acetate was dissolved with methanol
and partition extracted with n-hexane. The methanol layer is then evaporated until all
the methanol has evaporated. The concentrated methanol extract was then analyzed
by TLC, then separated by column chromatography with silica gel as the
stationary phase with n-hexane: ethyl acetate (90:10; 80:20; 70:30; 60:40; 50:50;
40:60; 30:70; 20:80; 10:90) v
/v as mobile phase. The pure compound obtained was
in the form of amorphous solid, mass = 6 mg with a value of Rf = 0.77 with an eluent
of n-hexane: ethyl acetate (10:90) v
/v .Based on UV-Vis spectroscopy analysis with
methanol solvent, it shows that there are two absorptions with wavelengths (λ max)
of 305 and 268 nm. The FT-IR spectroscopy shows the presence of OH groups,
C-H sp3 stretch, C=O ketone, C=C aromatic, C-H bend, C-O-C stretch and C-H sp2
bend. Proton Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectroscopy (1H-NMR) shows the
presence of H-3, H-2’, H-5’, H-6’, and OCH3 protons. Based on data analysis that
the isolated compound is a flavonoida compound of the flavon group. | en_US |
