Stunting is the most common form of malnutrition among children in developing countries. Parenting behavior plays an important role in growth and development disorders in children. This study aims to examine the behavior of caring for stunted children from the driving and inhibiting factors of stunting in Padang Lawas Regency. This study uses qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews and indirect observation of 10 informants. The results of the study used the support of health workers, knowledge and access to information as driving factors in caring for stunted children. The inhibiting factors for caring for stunted children are tradition and family support. Overall stunting parenting behavior is largely determined by driving factors and inhibiting factors. It is hoped that all health human resources can pay more attention to the community to increase knowledge about stunting in toddlers at an earlier age related to parenting from the aspect of exclusive breastfeeding and proper complementary feeding in fulfilling child nutrition.en_US
