dc.description.abstractNitrogen (N) is required in large quantities by the low availability of plant N in ultisol soil causing growth inhibiting factors. Apart from artificial fertilizers such as urea, organic materials are a source of N. Rich tea factory waste contains a lot of N nutrients, if applied it is possible to increase N nutrients and reduce the need for urea fertilizer. This research aims to obtain the best composition of tea factory waste and urea fertilizer in increasing the N nutrient in the growth of corn plants (Zea mays L.) in ultisol soil. The design used was a factorial randomized block plan with two factors. The first factor is tea factory waste with 4 dose levels, namely 0, 10, 20, and 30 tons/ha and the second factor is urea fertilizer with 3 dose levels, namely 0, 200, 400 kg N/ha. The research results showed that the application of tea factory waste significantly increased pH from 4.16 to 6.57, CEC, plant N uptake, and corn plant growth, and a dose of 30 tons/ha provided the best growth. Application of urea fertilizer significantly increased pH from 4.16 to 5.56, CEC, plant N uptake, corn plant growth except corn plant height, and a dose of 400 kg N/ha gave the best growth. The interaction of providing tea factory waste and urea fertilizer did not have a significant effect on increasing pH, CEC, plant N uptake, and corn plant growth. The growth of corn plants (height, crown dry weight, root dry weight) without urea application, but given tea factory waste at doses of 10, 20 and 30 tonnes/ha was better than urea fertilizer at a dose of 400 kg N/ha.en_US
