Response of Growth and Production of Three Varieties of Mung Beans (Vigna Radiata L.) to the POC Concentration of Banana Hump
Abstract
The use of superior varieties and good fertilization is needed to increase plant growth. This research aims to determine the effect of giving banana weevil POC on several varieties of green beans (Vigna radiata L.). This research was carried out at Pasar 1 Tanjung Sari, Medan Sunggal District, Medan, North Sumatra with the coordinates of the research location 3°33'31.608"N and 98°37'24.3588"E” at an altitude of ± 25 meters above sea level from October 2023 to January 2024. This study used a factorial randomized block design (RAK) consisting of 2 factors with 3 replications. The first factor is three varieties of green beans: Vima 1, Vima 2, Vima 3. The second factor is the POC concentration of banana weevil with 4 levels: 0, 15, 30, 45 ml/l. The results of the research showed that the Vima 3 variety actually produced the highest plant height, the Vima 1 variety actually produced the fastest flowering time and harvest time and the Vima 2 variety actually produced the highest 100 seed weight. Providing a banana weevil POC concentration of 45 ml/l had a significant effect on increasing plant height and fresh shoot weight. The interaction between POC concentrations of banana weevil and three varieties of green beans had no significant effect on all observed parameters.
