Kajian Kualitas Tanah Inceptisol pada Perkebunan Kelapa Sawit (Elaeis Guineensis Jacq.) Rakyat di Kecamatan Bilah Hulu Kabupaten Labuhanbatu

Abstract

The decline in people’s oil palm production in Bilah Hulu District is influenced by various factors, one of which is soil quality, currently there is no research on the study of the Inceptisol soil quality on people’s oil palm plantations in Bilah Hulu District, Labuhanbatu Regency. This study aims to determine the quality of Inceptisol soil in oil palm plantations (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) people in Bilah Hulu District Labuhanbatu Regency. Research using survey methods as well as sampling using purposive random sampling techniques of land map unit overlay. Analysis of soil samples carried out were soil texture, bulk density, porosity, pH, C organic, N-total, P-available, cation exchange capacity (CEC), base saturation and total microbial. Assessment of the soil quality of each land map unit based the 10 Minimum Data Set (MDS) method according to Lal, 1994 on each indicator. The quality of the soil in the people's oil palm plantation in the district of Bilah Hulu is assessed by the soil quality index (SQI). The results of the research showed the quality of soil Inceptisol in the People's Oil Palm Plants in the District of Labuhanbatu has criteria of poor to moderate soil quality.
