Penetapan Dosis Optimum Pupuk Kalium terhadap Produksi Tanaman Bawang Merah (Allium Ascalonicum L.) di Kecamatan Palipi Kabupaten Samosir
Determination of the Optimum Dose of Potassium Fertilizer on the Production of Shallot Plants (Allium Ascalonium L.) in Palipi District, Samosir Regency
Abstract
Shallots require the nutrient potassium (K) for plant growth and production. Currently in Samosir Regency there are various varieties of shallots cultivated, including the Samosir variety as a local variety and the Batu Ijo variety as an introduced variety. The optimum dose of K fertilizer for both shallot varieties has not yet been obtained. This research aims to obtain the optimum dose of K fertilizer in shallot plants. This research was conducted in Parsaoran Urat Village, Palipi District, Samosir Regency. This study used a Factorial Randomized Group Design consisting of two treatment factors, Factor I: Dosage of K fertilizer (KCl) consists of five levels, namely: 0, 100, 200, 300, 400kg KCl/ha. Factor II: Samosir local shallot varieties and Batu Ijo shallot varieties. Data were processed with SPSS if the results of variance showed a real/very real effect and continued with quadratic regression analysis. The results showed that the application of various dosage levels of K fertilizer did not increase the growth and production of shallot plants in other words, the optimum dose of potassium fertilizer was not obtained. The growth and production of shallots between local varieties of Samosir and Batu Ijo are equally good except for the parameter of the number of bulbs, where the number of bulbs of Samosir varieties is better than Batu Ijo varieties. The interaction of various dosage levels of K fertilizer and varieties did not increase the growth and production of onion plants.
