Business development is taking place rapidly in Indonesia, so this encourages companies to look for suitable strategies to sustain business life. The most important thing that companies need to pay attention to is the management of human resources (HR). HR is a very important asset and contributes to the activities of planning, directing, and organizing the running of a company. The company must be able to increase the productivity of HR work both individually and in groups, because the success of a company depends on employee productivity. Factors that affect work productivity are work environment and empowering leadership.
This study aims to analyze how the influence of work environment and empowering leadership on employee productivity at PT Bank Sumut Binjai Branch. The influence between the work environment and empowering leadership will be analyzed partially and simultaneously on work productivity.
The form of research used in this research is quantitative research with an associative approach. Sampling was done through saturated sampling technique and used 46 respondents as samples. Primary data in this study were obtained by distributing questionnaires directly and interviews, while secondary data were obtained through literature studies. The data analysis methods used are validity test, reliability test, classical assumption test, multiple linear regression test and hypothesis testing.
The results showed that the work environment variable (X1) and the empowering leadership variable (X2) had a positive and significant effect both partially and simultaneously on work productivity (Y). The coefficient of determination test shows that there is a fairly close relationship between the work environment and empowering leadership on work productivity with an R value of 0.834. Through the Adjusted R Square value, it is also known that the work environment variable (X1) and the empowering leadership variable (X2) contribute 69.5% to the work productivity variable (Y) while the remaining 30.5%% is influenced by other variables not discussed in this study.
