The Influence of Transformational Leadership Style and Job Training on Employee Performance at PT Pegadaian Kanwil I Medan
Abstract
Human resource management needs to be done to improve the quality of human resources in supporting the progress of the organization which can be seen through employee performance. One of the factors that can achieve organizational goals and improve employee performance can be seen based on the influence of leaders who can drive change(transformation) to create good cooperation with subordinates or called the transformational leadership style and training provided by the company to employees.
This study aims to analyze how the influence of transformational leadership style and job training on employee performance at PT Pegadaian Kanwil I Medan. The influence of transformational leadership style and job training will be analyzed partially and simultaneously on employee performance.
The form of research used in this research is quantitative research with an associative approach. The population in this study were all employees of PT Pegadaian Kanwil I Medan, totaling 54 people with sampling techniques using probability sampling. Primary data used in this study were obtained by distributing questionnaires directly and interviews while secondary data were obtained through literature studies. The data analysis methods used are instrument tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, and hypothesis testing.
The results showed that transformational leadership style and job training had a positive and significant effect both partially and simultaneously on employee performance at PT Pegadaian Kanwil I Medan. The correlation coefficient (R) value of 0.876 which means that there is a variable relationship between transformational leadership style (X1) and job training (X2) on job training (Y) of 0.876 so that the relationship between variables can be categorized as very close. The Adjusted R Square value of 0.758 or the coefficient of determination shows that the transformational leadership style variable (X1) and job training (X2) on job performance (Y) is 75.8% while the remaining 24.2% is influenced by other variables outside of the variables studied.
