This study aims to determine the morphological and agronomic characters of several varieties of cassava from West Sumatra. This research was conducted in the open field of ngumban surbakti road, Medan with an altitude of ± 25 meters above sea level. conducted based on Fukuda et al., (2010) and agronomic character analysis using a one factor Randomized Goup Design (RAK), namely : cassava varieties originating from Payakumbuh, West Sumatra. From the results of the study obtained 4 varieties of cassava, namely SB1 (West Sumatra 1), SB2 (West Sumatra 2), SB3 (West Sumatra 3), SB4 (West Sumatra 4). Each variety shows distinctive characters that can differentiate between one variety and others, including apical leaf color, petiole color, plant height and stem diameter. Analysis of agronomic characters showed that variety SB4 had a higher plant height than other varieties, SB3 had a larger stem diameter than other varieties and SB1 had a heavier weight of tuber than other varieties.en_US
