Electric mosquito repellent is one of the factors that can increase the levels of
free radicaIs, it can affect lung heaIth because it contains of allethrin. Free radical
levels can be reduced by administering antioxidant compounds. Haramonting
comprises secondary metaboIites such as fIavonoids, tannins, and quinones, which
have function as natural antioxidants. This study aims to determine the effect of
administering nanoherbaI haramonting leaves on the morphology and the histoIogy
of the lungs of rats exposed by allethrin. The research design used a CompIetely
Randomized Design (CRD) encompassed of five treatment groups. The treatments are
K(-) (only exposed to allethrin), K(+) (exposed to allethrin and given vitamin C), and
three treatment groups exposed to allethrin and given nanoherbal haramonting leaves
at doses of P(1), P(2), and P(3) (100, 200, and 300 mg/kgBW). This study used 25
male white rats (Rattus norvegicus) weighing approximately 150 gram as the samples.
The observations included the morphology and histology of the rats' lungs.
Morphological observations included lung color and weight. The histological
observations entailed the aIveolar membrane, the aIveolar Iumen, and the interaIveolar connections. The resuIts showed, the administration of nanoherbal
haramonting leaves at a dose of 200 mg/kgBW was the best dose, as indicated by an
increase in lung weight, pink lung color, intact and nucleated alveolar membranes,
rounded alveolar lumens, and tight inter-alveolar connections.
