dc.description.abstractThe phytochemical screening of gagatanharimau revealed the presence of secondary metabolites, which have the potential to be used as herbal medicine for improving organ structure. This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of nanoherbal gagatan harimau leaves (Vitis gracilis Wall.) on changes in the histomorphometry of the heart aorta in a Wistar rat (Rattus norvergicus L.) model of alloxan-induced diabetes. The study found that the nanoherbal treatment resulted in significant improvements in the histomorphometry of the heart aorta. The study employed a completely randomized design (CRD) with six treatments and four replications. The treatments included a negative control group consisting of normal rats, a positive control group consisting of diabetic rats with alloxan injection, a first treatment group consisting of diabetic rats given glibenclamide at a dose of 0.45 mg/kgbw, and a second treatment group consisting of diabetic rats given gagatan harimau leaves nanoherbal (Vitis gracilis Wall). The study involved four treatments, with each group receiving a different dose of nanoherbal gagatan harimau leaves (Vitis gracilis Wall.) and being classified as diabetic or non-diabetic. The first group received no treatment, the second group received a standard anti-diabetic drug, the third group received 125 mg/kgbw of the nanoherbal treatment, and the fourth group received 150 mg/kgbw of the nanoherbal treatment. Aortic preparations were made using the paraffin method and Hematoxylin Eosin (HE) staining. The research findings indicate that administering nanoherbal treatment of gagatan harimau leaves at a dose of 125 mg/kgbw can improve aortic histology. This improvement is reflected in the reduction of aortic thickness, heart aortic circumference, and the frequency of atherosclerosis. The research also confirms that gagatan tiger leaves are non-toxic, as evidenced by the absence of changes in the size, volume, and color of the heart.en_US
