The waters of Cemara Kembar beach are extensive waters located in Serdang
Berdagai Regency. This beach is a tourist area and is close to the river mouth. This
research aims to determine population density, growth patterns of blood cockles
(Anadara granosa) and to determine the relationship between physico-chemical
factors in waters and blood cockle population density. This research was conducted
in May 2024. Sampling of blood cockles was carried out at the lowest tide in the
morning by collecting all the shells obtained from 3 stations. Sampling was carried
out at 4 points from each station. The research results showed that the highest
density value was at station 3 at 4.571 ind/ha and the lowest was at station 1 at 3.714
ind/ha. The growth pattern at each station obtained a negative allometric or b value
< 3, which means that the increase in width is more dominant than the increase in
weight. The results of the correlation analysis showed that temperature, DO, BOD,
and salinity had a very strong effect on the density of blood cockles.
