dc.description.abstractSalak plant is one of the leading products of the agricultural sector in South Tapanuli Regency. South Tapanuli Regency as the salak center of North Sumatra Province has an area of 4,355.35 km2 with an altitude of 0 - 1,985 meters above sea level. One of the problems faced by the salak commodity lately is the decline in the quality and quantity of salak. This can be caused by non intensive salak cultivation techniques, in addition to the different topographic conditions of salak can be a factor in the different flavors of salak. This study aims to evaluate the nutrient status of P, K and altitude and its effect on salak sugar content in South Tapanuli Regency. The research was conducted from October 2023 to April 2024. Soil and fruit samples were taken from locations categorized as low (700 m above sea level) elevations in South Tapanuli Regency. This study took 30 soil samples using survey method with stratified sampling technique and salak fruit as research material. The results showed that Salak Sidimpuan has sugar content from the range of values 14.5 - 22.17 Brix and mostly consists of very sweet criteria. Soil P-available values are from the range of 115.97 - 465.05 ppm and all with very high criteria. Soil K-exchange values ranged from 0.19 - 2.96 me/100g and were mostly very high. The relationship of the multiple linear regression of P, K and elevation follows the equation Y = 17,515 - 0.005 elevation + 0.015 P-available + 0.620 K-exchange and the relationship between elevation, P, and K to sugar content is moderate with an adjusted R2 value of 0.227 and only P-available affects salak sugar content.en_US
