Penentuan Dosis Optimum Pupuk Nitrogen pada Dua Varietas Bawang Merah (Allium Ascalonicum L.) di Desa Parsaoran Urat Kecamatan Palipi Kabupaten Samosir
Determination of the Optimum Dose of Nitrogen Fertilizer in Red Onion Plants (Allium Ascalonicum L.) in Parsaoran Urat Village, Palipi District, Samosir Regency
Abstract
Nitrogen (N) is one of the macronutrients needed by shallot plants in their growth. The use of this fertilizer in the right dose will provide maximum shallot yield. This study aims to determine the optimum dose of N fertilizer in shallot plants. This research was conducted in Parsaoran Urat Village, Palipi District, Samosir Regency from October to December 2023. This study used the method of Factorial Randomized Group Design (RAK) with two factors. The first factor is the dose of N fertilizer with 5 dose levels namely 0, 95, 190, 285 and 380 kg N/ha and the second factor is shallot varieties namely Samosir local varieties and Batu Ijo varieties. The results showed that the application of N fertilizer at several dose levels could increase the fresh weight of sample bulbs, N nutrient uptake and production of shallot but tended to decrease at the highest fertilizer dose level. The Samosir local variety produced more tillers than the Batu Ijo variety. However, in tuber production, the Batu Ijo variety produced higher production than the Samosir local variety. The optimum dose of Nitrogen fertilizer for shallots of the local Samosir variety is 128.2 kg N/ha and 78.6 kg N/ha for the Batu Ijo variety.
