dc.description.abstractMangrove forest restoration in Indonesia faces many obstacles in achieving success. One of the obstacles is the existence of hydrodynamic disturbances such as tidal waves that cause coastal abrasion. So to reduce the risk of failure caused by coastal abrasion, it is necessary to select appropriate mangrove seedlings to be planted in dynamic coastal environmental conditions. The purpose of this study was to obtain data on the physiology of mangrove plants that are appropriate and suitable for planting in a dynamic environment to reduce the risk of failure of mangrove forest restoration, one of which is caused by abrasion and sea waves. This research was from September 2019 to June 2021. The results showed that the species Avicennia marina and Avicennia alba with 75 samples each had different physiological data including the average height of each species was 6,62 cm and 83,69 cm, the average stem diameter was 0,22 cm and 0,9 cm, the average total root length was 5,2 cm and 60,24 cm, the average primary root diameter was 0,31 cm and 1,33 cm, the secondary root average diameter was 0,05 cm and 0,75 cm. Mangrove seedlings that are suitable for planting in restoration activities are from the age of the plant, which is two months old or more with a seedling height of one meter or more with a diameter of one centimeter.en_US
