    Abstract
Patin fish (Pangasius hypopthalmus) is one of the freshwater fisheries commodities with high economic value. Patin fish belonging to the Pangasidae family is generally found in large rivers, especially in Sumatra. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the addition of bangun-bangun leaf powder (Coleus ambonicus) as an additional food combine to the commercial pellets on the growth and survival of the catfish. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) method with four treatments and six replicates each. The treatments consisted of P0 (commercial pellets without bangun-bangun leaf powder); P1 (commercial pellets + 1.5% bangun-bangun leaf powder); P2 (commercial pellets + 3% bangun-bangun leaf powder), and P3 (commercial pellets + 4.5% bangun-bangun leaf powder). The results showed that there is a significant effect (P<0.05) on the weight and length of catfish, butit gives no significant effect (P>0.05) on the survival value (SR). The addition of bangun-bangun leaf powder at a dose of 3% is able to provide an absolute weight gain which is 13.52 g and an absolute length gain of 7.34 cm compare to other doses and the result cause better feed quality as seen from the smallest feed conversion value in the P2 treatment of 1.10 g. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the number of patin fish in the P2 treatment is significantly higher than in the other doses. It can be concluded, the number of doses that is upright for the growth of length and weight of catfish is by a 3% of bangun-bangun leaf powder.
