    Abstract
The increasingly massive technological advancements, particularly in the FinTech industry, have both positive and negative impacts. One of the negative impacts of FinTech is the phenomenon of cybercrime with social engineering modus operandi, which is no longer unfamiliar to society. Digital literacy is a concept expected to serve as a guide in preventing cybercrime. In addition to digital literacy, there is also Digital Technology Security Competency (KKTD) which focuses more on typology of literacy in preventing social engineering. Therefore, a study entitled "Level of Digital Literacy and Digital Technology Security Competency among Students in the City of Medan" was conducted. The method used in this research is quantitative correlational, aimed at examining the relationship between the level of digital literacy and cybercrime prevention competency in Financial Technology among students in the city of Medan. This research measures the level of digital literacy of students in public and private universities in Medan using the Japelidi indicator. The findings of this research indicate that the majority of students in Medan have a very high level of digital literacy. The highest ability is demonstrated by the selection indicator with a digital literacy index score of 90%, while the lowest ability lies in the participation indicator with a digital literacy index score of 59%. As for the level of KKTD, students in Medan have basic (very high), intermediate (moderate), and advanced (high) competency levels. Based on the results of the Spearman’s Rank Order Correlation test, there is a correlation coefficient of 0.648. This indicates that the relationship between the level of digital literacy (Japelidi) and cybercrime prevention competency (KKTD) among students in Medan is strong and positive.
