Persepsi Mahasiswa Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Sumatera Utara dalam Penggunaan ChatGPT pada Pembelajaran Era Digital

Abstract

This research is entitled "Perceptions of Communication Science Students at the University of North Sumatra in Using ChatGPT in Digital Era Learning". The aim of this research is to determine the perceptions of Communication Science students at the University of North Sumatra in using ChatGPT in digital era learning and to find out the obstacles in using ChatGPT in digital era learning. The theories used in this research are Communication, Perception, ChatGPT, Digital Era, Learning, and New Media Theory. The method used in this research is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The data in this research was obtained through observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. The validity of the data was obtained using triangulation techniques. The main informants in this research were five people and the triangulation informants were two people. Determining the informants used a purposive sampling technique. The results of the research showed that the five informants used ChatGPT as a tool to find answers and there were obstacles in using ChatGPT such as the answers given by ChatGPT were not appropriate, the arrangement of words and sentences were incorrect, the source was invalid, and the website had errors.
