dc.description.abstractEthylene is a compound composed of the elements hydrogen and carbon or the lightest olefin hydrocarbon. At room temperature, ethylene is a colorless, flammable gas with a slight odor. The chemical properties of ethylene are determined by its double bonds which react mainly by addition to produce saturated hydrocarbons and their derivatives as well as polymers. The raw material used in the pre-design of this factory is ethanol. The pre-designed plant for making ethylene through the ethanol dehydration process has a capacity of 50,000 tons/year and operates 330 days a year. The main process in this pre-design consists of two stages, namely the product formation stage and the product separation stage. At the product formation stage, a dehydration reaction process was applied at a temperature of 200°C for 1 hour. Meanwhile, the product separation stage is carried out in the distillation tower. The amount of ethanol needed to reach annual production capacity is 95,076,263 tons/year. An ethylene manufacturing plant using an ethanol dehydration process is planned will be established in Tangerang Regency, Banten Province, with a total area of 12,898 m2 . The planned form of company organization is a Limited Liability Company (PT) with a total of 172 employees. Results analysis economics on pre-plan This is as follows: 1. Capital Investment (CI) = IDR 1,377,488,856,203 2. Total Cost (TC) = IDR 1,096,474,173,494 3. Profit Margins (PM) = 48.77% 4. Break Even Points (BEP) = 48.62% 5. Returns on Investment (ROI) = 28.66% 6. Returns on Network (RON) = 93.68% 7. Pay Out Time (POT) = 1 year 9 months 8. Internal Rate of Return (IRR) = 34.11% Based on economic analysis, can concluded that pre-plan This ethylene plant using the ethanol dehydration process is feasible to establish.en_US
