dc.description.abstractAerodynamics on the vehicle body is the main thing in a vehicle design planning. Previous research shows that the decrease in drag force from urban G17 to urban Halisungsung is quite small and the results of pressure contour analysis show the need for design improvements to minimize drag force. This research aims to obtain an urban type horas car body design that complies with Shell Eco Marathon (SEM) rules, has an optimal drag force to reduce fuel consumption. This research is conducted by simulation method using CFD software and calculation analysis. The analysis is carried out in three-dimensional flow, namely steady, turbulent, isothermal and incompressible with air flow velocities used 15 km/h, 43 km/h, and 55 km/h. Based on the simulation and analysis results, the drag coefficient of the Urban I (Halisungsung) car was obtained at a speed variation of 0.19790, 0.18841, and 0.18762, respectively. And in Urban II it is 0.08399, 0.07951, and 0.07689. The drag coefficient was reduced by 58.11%, the drag force decreased by 50.92%, the lift coefficient was reduced by 89.70%, the lift force was reduced by 87.90%, and at a speed of 43 km / h and a distance of 9.6 km, the decrease in fuel consumption due to drag force in the Urban II car design was 50.54%.en_US
