Faktor Penyebab Berjudi Online Higgs Domino Island pada Kalangan Dewasa Awal di Kelurahan Pasar Sarulla

Abstract

Online gambling is a very serious social problem in Indonesia with 3.5 million people participatng in it and transaction value reaching IDR 600 trillion in the first quarter of 2024. The most age group that gambles online in 2022 is the young adult age of 18-35. A famous online gambling application, higgs domino island, has been officially blocked by Kominfo since August 2023 because there is a money turnover of Rp 27 trillion in a year. This research aims to see the factors that cause gambling online higgs domino island among young adults in Pasar Sarulla Village. This is a qualitative descriptive research. Techniques of data collection through fieldwork, observation, interviews and documentation. Informants in the study consisted of key informants, the seller of chips higgs domino island. Main informants are five young adults who use online gambling higgs domino island. Additional informants are the Police Chief, Head of Pasar Sarulla, the main informant's 1 sister and the main informant’s 2 wife. Research results show that the factors that cause gambling online higgs domino island among young adults in Pasar Sarulla Village are due to environmental factors, learning factors, factors of perception of victory, addiction factors, social and economic factors and skill factors. This research also looks at the factors that cause gambling online higgs domino island among young adults using differential association theory. Young adults use online gambling through a learning process with the closest people such as friends, the environment and further learning through YouTube. There is a communication and interaction in the learning process of using online gambling by often gathering with other higgs domino online gambling users. Young adults do not have difficulties in the learning process of using the higgs domino island online gambling application.
