Air conditioning (AC) is a conditioning process that regulates the air at a certain temperature and humidity level to produce clean, fresh, comfortable air. Currently, R-134a refrigerant, known as synthetic refrigerant, is the most common type of car AC coolant. Research shows that the refrigerant R-134a has the potential to cause global warming. The aim of this research is to analyze the performance of car AC using an electric compressor, namely Mass Flow Rate of Refrigerant, Compressor Work, Heat Released by the Condenser, Coefficien of Performance (COP), and Electrical Energy Consumption. Then analyze the performance comparison of car ACs using electric compressors with R-134a and R-600a (HFC) refrigerants. This research uses several variables, including the independent variables used: Temperature in the Air Conditioner system and high pressure and low pressure refrigerant. For the Dependent Variable, namely AC Electric Motor, 745.7Watt, 1400 rpm, 220V., Swash Plate type Sanden Compressor, 1 PK, and Cooling Capacity (Evaporator), 2.015 kJ/s. And for the controlled variables, namely the test time interval of 15 (Minutes), compressor shaft rotational speed interval of 800, 900, 1000, and 1100 (Rpm), and Refrigerant Types R-134a and R-600a. The results of vapor compression cycle analysis calculations on the performance of car AC systems obtained using an electric compressor with R-134a and R-600a refrigerants, the refrigerant mass flow rate, compression work, heat released by the condenser, and electrical energy consumption have increased. Meanwhile, the results of the SKU analysis calculation on the Coefficient of Performance have decreased.en_US
