dc.description.abstractHydropower is one of the forms of clean energy that serves as a vital source of renewable energy. It boasts the advantage of flexible scheduling and low operational costs. Furthermore, it plays a crucial role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, optimizing energy structures, and achieving energy savings and emission reductions targets. One of the new types of power turbines is the GWVT, which converts the potential energy of water into kinetic energy through a circulation tank (basin). This type of turbine can operate at low head heights, ranging from 0.7 meters to 2 meters (low head turbine). Several studies using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations have been conducted previously on various blade types, including inverted conical blades, crossflow blades, curved rectangular blades, and twisted blades, each with four blades and a cylindrical basin. In this study, the research was conducted on straight blades with 3.5 and 7 blades under various flow rates. The testing results showed that the GWVT produced the highest turbine torque, turbine power, and turbine efficiency with 5 blades at a flow rate of 0.0216 m3/s. The turbine torque was 8,55 N.m, the turbine power was 55,49 watts, and the turbine efficiency was 28,8%.en_US
