dc.description.abstract | Quite high rainfall and lack of drainage capacity to accommodate rainwater in the city of Medan are the causes of flooding problems. Especially on Jalan Selamat, Sitirejo III Medan Amplas. The background to this problem being raised was the occurrence of flooding downstream which was quite high during the rainy season in the area. Given this problem, a flood control analysis will be carried out using the sudetan method, namely by repairing and re-planning the channel dimensions in the Jalan Selamat, Sitirejo III drainage to accommodate flood discharge.
This research began during the even semester of the 2022-2023 academic year and the case study was carried out in Jalan Selamat, Sitirejo III, Medan Amplas District, Medan City. Data collection in this research is in the form of primary data including channel dimension data and flow velocity data and secondary data in the form of maximum daily rainfall data from three stations for the 2012-2021 period BMKG Region I, Sampali, and Bandar Klippa. In this study, the Log Pearson III distribution was used to obtain a rainfall intensity value for the 10 year return period of 95.54.
From the results of the flood discharge analysis for a 10 year return period plan using the rational method, Qb = 1.44 m3/sec and Qkap = 2.93 m3/sec. With the planned discharge that can be accommodated, Qs = 1.49 m3/sec. Based on the results of the plan above, it can be seen that it is necessary to plan a cutoff so that it can accommodate some of the flood discharge downstream, so the channel discharge is greater than the planned discharge. | en_US |
