The predesign of the blast furnace slag cement manufacturing plant by adding ground
granulated blast furnace slag by dry process has a capacity of 600,000 tons/year and an operating time of 280 days in one year. The raw materials needed in this plant are clinker, steel industry waste, and gypsum respectively amounting to 40178.5714 kg/hour, 44642.8571
kg/hour, and 4464.2857 kg/hour. Raw materials in the formation of clinker required limestone of 51707.6936 kg/hour, silica sand of 2491.937 kg/hour, iron sand 6852.826 kg/hour, and clay 1245.96 kg/hour. The factory location is planned in Sandaran District, East Kutai Regency, East Kalimantan Province with a development land area of 40000 m2 . The form of business
entity is planned to be a Limited Liability Company (PT) with the form of line and staff organization and a total workforce of 145 people, this factory is planned to operate for 30 years.
The results of the analysis of the pre-design economic aspects of the factory are:
• Total Investment Capital = IDR 3,337,662,652,744.06
• Total Production Cost = IDR 522,604,780,489.28
• Total Sales Proceeds = IDR 966,818,843,905.17
• Net Profit = IDR 288,739,141,220.33
• Break Even Point (BEP) = 38.06%
• Return on Investment (ROI) = 19%
• Pay Back Period (PBP) = 7 Years
• Internal Rate of Return (IRR) = 9% From the results of economic analysis, it can be concluded that the Design of the Blast Furnace Slag Cement Plant (Semen Slag) by the Addition of Steel Industry Waste (Ground
Granulated Blast Furnace Slag) with a Dry Process Capacity of 600,000 Tons/ Year is feasible to be established.
