Pra Rancangan Pabrik Sirup Glukosa dari Pati Ubi Kayu Menggunakan Proses Hidrolisis Enzimatis dengan Kapasitas Produksi 100.000 Ton/Tahun
Preliminary Design of Glucose Syrup Factory from Cassava Starch Using Enzymatic Hydrolysis Process with a Production Capacity of 100.000 Tons/Year
Abstract
The national demand for sugar demonstrates a consistent annual increase and is projected to reach 9,81 million tons by 2030, with an anticipated deficit of 7,13
million tons. Concurrently, cassava, boasting an 87% starch content, shows a productivity surge of 2,66%, juxtaposed with a consumption decline of 0,21%. In response to these dynamics, the present study proposes a Preliminary Design of a Glucose Syrup Factory from Cassava Starch. The envisaged facility is designed for round-the-clock operation, spanning 300 days per year, with a production capacity
of 100.000 tons annually and a raw material capacity of 7.543,753 tons per annum.
The manufacturing process entails two primary reactions: Liquification, involving
starch hydrolysis into dextrin through α-amylase enzyme catalysis in a Liquification
Reactor for 40 minutes at 95°C; and Saccharification, wherein dextrin is further converted into glucose by glucoamylase enzyme action in a Saccharification Reactor for 40 minutes at 60°C. The proposed site for the factory is Pematang
Ganjang, situated within the Serdang Bedagai Regency, Sei Rempah Subdistrict,
North Sumatra, covering a land area of 10.000 m2. The organizational structure entails the establishment of a Limited Liability Company (LLC), employing both
line and staff organizational configurations, and envisages a workforce of 100 personnel. For establishment and operation, the factory requires an investment
capital of Rp 2.194.277.097.468,730 with annual production costs amounting to Rp
1.540.235.035.049,230. With annual sales revenue of Rp 3.000.000.000.000, the net profit is Rp 1.132.923.589.298,290. Based on the economic analysis, the Profit Margin (PM) is 48,416%, the Break Even Point (BEP) is 15,549%, the Return on
Investment (ROI) is 52,712%, the Pay out Time (POT) is 1,897 years, the Return on Network (RON) is 87,853%, and the Internal Rate of Return (IRR) is 42,848%. Thus, predicated upon the comprehensive economic analysis, the Preliminary
Design of a Glucose Syrup Factory from Cassava Starch Using Enzymatic
Hydrolysis Process with a Production Capacity of 100.000 Tons/Year, is deemed
feasible for implementation.
