dc.description.abstract | Hydrochloric acid is a chemical molecule containing hydrogen and chlorine bonds, giving it an acidic nature. Numerous procedures are used to produce hydrochloric acid. This factory design's primary goal is to use chemical engineering concepts and offer preliminary data for creating a hydrochloric acid production facility. Pre-design of a factory for producing hydrochloric acid from potassium chloride salt and sulfuric acid using the Mannheim process with a production capacity of 45,000 tons/year. The main process in this factory design consists of 3 stages, namely the reaction stage, product separation stage and product purification stage. This hydrochloric acid factory is planned to be established in Sedari Village, Cibuaya District, Karawang City, West Java Province with a land area of 16,250 m2. The factory operates 24 hours per day, 330 working days per year with a total of 179 employees. The form of business entity at this hydrochloric acid factory is a Limited Liability Company (PT). To establish and operate the factory requires investment capital of IDR 853,772,754,833 and production costs of IDR 792,687,275,776. Based on the feasibility analysis, this factory has a BEP of 47.38%, ROI of 26.68%, POT of 3.75 years, RON of 44.47% and IRR of 30.68%. From the results of the economic analysis, it can be concluded that the design of a factory for producing hydrochloric acid from potassium chloride salt and sulfuric acid using the Mannheim process is feasible to establish. | en_US |
