    Abstract
Isolation and identification of flavonoid compound from the bark of perepat (Sonneratia alba Sm.) had been carried out through the maceration extraction with methanol solvent. The methanol extract is concentrated, then the concentrated methanol extract is dissolved in ethyl acetate, evaporated and concentrated. The concentrated extract of ethyl acetate was dissolved in methanol and partition extracted with n-hexane. Evaporated the methanol layer until all the methanol has evaporated. Concentrated methanol extract was then analyzed by TLC, then separated by column chromatography with silica gel as the stationary phase and chloroform:ethyl acetate (90:10, 80:20, 70: 30, 60:40, 50:50, 40:60, 30: 70, 20:80, 10:90) v/v as mobile phase. The pure compound obtained was in the form of a yellow amorphous solid, mass=10 mg with Rf=0,6 using the eluent chloroform: ethyl acetate (50:50) v/v and value Rf=0,77 using the eluent benzene: acetone (40:60) v/v. Based on UV-Vis spectroscopy analysis with methanol solvent, it shows that there are two absorption peaks with wavelengths (λmax) of 366 nm and 267 nm. The FT-IR spectrum shows the presence of O-H, C-H sp3, C=O ketone, C=C aromatic, C-H, CO- C and C-H sp2 groups respectively at the wave number 3427,51; 2924,09; 1660,71; 1506,41; 1446,61; 1174,65; 833,40 cm-1. Proton Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectrum (1H-NMR) shows the presence of H-6, H-8, H-3' & H-5' and H- 2' & H-6' protons. Spectroscopic data shows that the isolated compound is a flavonol group.
