A project requires a good project scheduling method so that implementation can run smoothly and avoid losses in terms of time or costs. This research uses the Line of Balance scheduling method. The aim of this research is to analyze the comparison of work implementation periods between scheduling using the Line of Balance method and existing methods. The research was carried out on the Medan - Binjai Cross Railway Package 3 construction project. The research used a comparative study type of research with a qualitative research method approach. This research uses secondary data obtained from the project in the form of Barcharts and S-Curves. Scheduling duration will be applied to pier work. Based on the time schedule, activities are grouped into 26 component types of activities. In this research, several jobs will be combined to produce 9 activity components with appropriate durations and a dependency logic between activity components will be arranged. The series of activities in this method must not intersect with each other. From the calculation results of scheduling using the Line of Balance method and the existing duration obtained is the same as the initial duration, namely 112 weeks. In order to obtain a faster scheduling duration than the initial scheduling, it is necessary to accelerate several work items by changing the finish to start relationship to start to start. The results of the analysis show that the duration required for project completion is 110 weeks. Meanwhile, the duration of work in the existing scheduling is 112 weeks, so there is a reduction in the total duration of 2 weeks when implementing the Line of Balance scheduling system. The Line of Balance method has the advantage of determining the exact start time of work, and can identify conflicts between jobs.en_US
