An accident is defined as an unplanned event. The words undesirable,
unexpected and uncontrolled are used to describe these events. Accidents occur
due to the risk of work accidents. Risk is a possibility or probability of something
happening that can have an impact on a target. One of the methods used in
carrying out the process of identifying hazard risks and sources of work accident
risks is to use the House of Risk method which uses two stages in the process
which are applied in the calculation of matrix tables, which produces the priority
value of a hazard risk along with the risk sources and actions. prevention and
control of sources of risk of work accidents. This research uses questionnaires
distributed to competent respondents.
In research on work accident risk identification using the House of Risk
method in the Medan-Binjai Railway Elevator Construction Project, there are five
sources of risk of work accident danger, namely experiencing visual impairment,
being punctured by reinforcement, workers falling into excavation holes, workers
being hit by tools. heavy, falling from a height.
The causes of the five risks of work accidents are the absence of dividing
lines, working at heights, movement of heavy equipment, exposed ends of
reinforcement material and scattered dust and glare from sunlight.
Based on the analysis carried out, there are preventive and control
measures that can be taken in order to prevent and minimize the five risks of work
accidents, namely installing dividing lines in the project work environment,
installing project signs, checking and wearing PPE appropriately, covering every
segments of iron reinforcement material, and cutting off each end of the
remaining reinforcement.
