This research aims to determine the influence of the variables Gender, Financial Rewards, Professional Training, Work Environment, and Job Market Considerations on Interest in a career as a Public Accountant among USU FEB Accounting Students. The population in this study was 276 respondents consisting of students from the regular Accounting study program class of 2015 and 2016. Students from the Extension Accounting study program class of 2017 and 2018. The sampling method used was the Slovin Formula, resulting in 73 respondents. Data analysis techniques use descriptive statistical analysis and multiple linear regression analysis.
The data used in this study are primary data. Data obtained and collected is then processed using the SPSS application.
The research results show that the variables financial rewards, professional training and job market considerations influence interest in working as a public accountant. Meanwhile, the Gender and Work Environment variables have no effect on Interest in a Career as an Accountant among USU FEB Accounting Students.
