Measurement of Halal Supply Chain Performance of Potato Chips Using the Balanced Scorecard Method at UD. Kunyahan Medan
Abstract
UD. Kunyahan Medan is a snack food manufacturer that is halal certified. During
operation, UD. Kunyahan Medan has never measured its supply chain
performance. Companies only assess their performance based on financial aspects,
taking into account indicators of business income and sales growth recorded in the
profit and loss report and financial balance sheet. Other problems that occur are
the large number of complaints, the large number of defective products produced,
and the small number of partners working with the company. The research aims to
measure the performance of the halal supply chain at UD. Kunyahan Medan uses
the Food Supply Chain Network (FSCN) approach and the Balanced Scorecard
method, and provides improvement solutions to improve supply chain performance.
Based on the Food Supply Chain Network (FSCN) approach, the condition of the
supply chain at UD is known. Chewing Medan has been going quite well. These
conditions can be seen from the aspects of targets, structure, management,
resources, business processes and supply chain performance. Results of measuring
the value of halal supply chain performance at UD. Medan Kunyahan is 71,21
which is included in the good category. Performance assessment is carried out on
25 KPI. Based on analysis with the traffic light system, 16 KPs are categorized as
green, 1 KPI is yellow, and 8 KPI are red, with the yellow and red KPI being KPI
that support the effectiveness of implementing the halal guarantee system.
Suggestions for improvements that can be made to improve supply chain
performance at UD. Kunyahan Medan, namely expanding sales targets, using
sharia banks in storing capital and business income to avoid usury originating from
bank interest, carrying out checks before products are sent to customers, providing
special offers to old customers, and carrying out attractive promotions to attract
new customers and expand cooperation networks
