Analysis of Internal Communication of Employees of the General Bureau of the Regional Secretariat of North Sumatra Province
Abstract
This research is entitled "Analysis of Internal Communication of Employees of the General Bureau of the Regional Secretariat of North Sumatra Province." The purpose of this study was to analyze the internal communication of employees at the General Bureau of the Regional Secretariat of North Sumatra Province. This research uses qualitative research methods. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and direct observation of General Bureau employees. This research uses the constructivism paradigm by applying the communication climate survey indicators from Harry Sutphen Dennis, namely superior-subordinate communication, quality of information, superior openness, opportunities for communication, and reliability of information. The researcher interviewed five informants, namely one key informant, four main informants. Data validity was obtained using triangulation techniques. The results of this study found that internal communication in the General Bureau plays an important role in line with improving employee performance. The implication of this research shows that improving the quality of internal communication can have a positive impact on employee performance. This research is expected to make a practical contribution to the management of internal communication in government organizations and become a reference for further research in the field of organizational communication.
