Bio-oil is produced from the thermal decomposition of palm oil frond waste biomass to be used as an alternative raw material source. However, it has weaknesses in its physical and chemical properties such as a high oxygen to carbon ratio, low selectivity towards hydrocarbon components, and poor stability. So steps are needed to improve the quality of bio-oil to make it more suitable for storage and subsequent processing as liquid fuel. By using a combination of using plastic waste which contains a high hydrogen to carbon ratio and a low oxygen to carbon ratio, this is one way to improve the quality of bio-oil, with high yields of bio-oil products and more alkane and alkene components. The main objective of this research is to enrich bio-oil production through a catalytic co-pyrolysis process at a temperature of 500oC with N2 gas flowing at a flow rate of 5 mL/second for 1 hour from palm oil frond waste and HDPE plastic waste using a mordenite zeolite catalyst. carried out with Cu and Zn metal oxides carried out in a fixed-bed reactor. The catalyst characteristics obtained show that the metal impregnation process has an impact on the structure of the mordenite zeolite. The successful incorporation of metals into zeolites was validated by data from SEM EDX analysis. The catalyst pores show the presence of mesopores in each catalyst. CuO/MOR and ZnO/MOR catalysts resulted in an increase in bio-oil yield percentage of 28.77% and 30.12%, respectively. The physical and chemical properties of bio-oil derived from both catalysts show advantages, characterized by the lowest oxygen content and highest heating value (HHV) among comparable co-pyrolysis methodologies.en_US
