    Abstract
    In this study, what was evaluated was the condition of the drainage system in Jalan Seroja, Medan Sunggal District. Drainage is a water structure that functions to reduce or remove excess water from an area or land, so that the land can be used optimally. This research was conducted because of the flooding problems that occurred in the road area due to reduced catchment areas, high rainfall intensity, and insufficient channel dimensions. Then an evaluation is carried out regarding the capacity of the drainage channel to find out whether the drainage channel is sufficient or not in accommodating rainwater discharge. This research is an evaluation in nature where the research data is secondary and primary data, then after the data is collected, then analyze hydrology and hydraulics data. In the results of the analysis of rainfall that is used to calculate the intensity of rainfall is the value of rainfall distribution Log Pearson III 5 year return period. To find the flood discharge plan using the rational method. Based on the results of a comparison of the existing capacity of the canal and the planned flood discharge, it is known that the existing canal cannot accommodate the planned flood discharge, causing overflow of water to come out of the drainage canal and inundate the surrounding area. To overcome this, it is necessary to re-plan the channel dimensions
