    Abstract
    This research wants to reveal who a silver human is, the reasons behind someone becoming a silver human, the knowledge of silver humans, how to become a silver human and why choose to become a silver human. This research uses qualitative methods with data collectiontechniques, namely observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. The results ofthis study found that the silver man is one of the begging methods followed because itis trending among beggars in order to meet their economic needs. A silver man has knowledge of how to color the body, body dye tools and materials, the good and bad effects of being a silver man, and the appearance that can attract motorists' sympathy. Based on phenomenological analysis, it was found that becoming a silver man was motivated by economic needs, and the background of the negative view of the community towards silver men because of the silver man's behavior which sometimes causes commotion on the road. Analysis of survival strategies, the method of beggingby becoming a silver man is part of the beggar's adaptation to find the most appropriatebegging technique in generating sympathy from motorists. This study expects further research on ways to empower the community, especially the lower economic class, sothat vagrants and beggars are not increasingly rampant.
